In the old days of camping it was said that it”s not a solid camping experience until you put up a tent. And northern California camping is truly the best place to camp.

As you have probably seen in movies pitching a tent is not that simple. You will find this especially true if you don”t learn the techniques of setting up a tent or if you don”t have all of the main tools that you need to even set up a tent.

And of course the end result is a poor camping experience.
We here at Del Loma RV Resorts want to inform the beginning camper that you don”t have to get hurt just to enjoy northern California camping. Neither does it have to be painful!

Just because your camping outside does not mean that you should not enjoy the experience, okay!

Now to help you enjoy camping up here in our great Northern California campgrounds I want you to be aware of some important items that you should have with you.

First of all make sure you have some good toiletries and plenty of clothes.

You want the clothes that you bring to be not only comfortable but also adequate to any change in weather that may happen. Imagine a possible storm suddenly soaking you. On the other hand you don”t want to break out your snow gear and then end up in 90 degree temperatures neither.

What I am saying is that you want to find out the weather conditions of the Northern california campgrounds that you will be at (preferably ours so just call us and we will let you know), so that you can pack the right type of clothing to get your enjoyment out of your camping experience. If all else fails then just take a balance of heavy and lighter clothing since the weather can change to a bit cooler at night.

Remember just because your camping it does not mean that your grooming habits have to be tossed into the river.

Sometimes when your hiking you may need to make some quick repairs so you may want to have some indispensable items that will help you say sew a new button on a child”s shirt or something like that.

Here are some other important items that you will need for grooming and overall comfort:

  • soap
  • tooth paste
  • brush
  • deodorant
  • towels
  • lotion
  • sun glasses
  • tissue paper

Our campground does slots have clean bathrooms with flushing toilets for our tent campers so that you don”t have to go into the bushes as our fore fathers did.

But, our grooming is still a necessary essential no matter where you are.

Now onto my second point in the area of camping gear. Of course you will need a good tent but you also want to remember to bring:

  • lantern lamps
  • flash lights
  • batteries
  • shovel
  • folding board
  • napping bags
  • camping chairs
  • beds
  • hammocks if needed
  • pen knife
  • binoculars-we have wonderful wildlife up here
  • camera
  • camping traveling bags

Now some of these items may change from one camping site to another. For example we offer fully loaded cabins at very reasonable prices.

Alas if you are tent camping you will require more items to make sure that you have a good time and are safe.
Some additional items would include:

  • umbrellas-in case of rain
  • covers-(extra ones) as it can get nippy at night.

Also do not forget to bring beginning aid items.

Why? Because anything can happen while your out camping. A child can scrape their knee while running and having fun.

Like good little scouts we should always be ready for anything.
So have a first aid kit with band aids, some antiseptics and asprin.
Also bring along identification items so that you can always show your ID when asked.

My last point is don”t forget to bring the most important item of all, excitement and a desire to have fun! diovan
